Reporting to the Digital General Manager Digital, your key responsibilities will include the commercial administration for the Digital team, assisting with the development of digital signage projects and improving processes and systems for reporting. Most importantly, you will be joining the most rapidly growing area of the business! 

Who we are looking for…

  • We looking for a self-motivated individual, who is highly organised, and has a strong attention to detail.

  • The successful candidate will know how to use Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint. 

  • Whilst experience is not essential, 1-2 years’ experience in a related field will be highly regarded.

  • Tertiary education in a relevant discipline is not essential, but will be highly regarded.

About You

About the Opportunity
The role of Research Analyst at APN Outdoor is to assist in all research and insights related activities which support the selling and marketing of APN Outdoor’s suite of media formats in Australia and New Zealand.
You will report directly into the Research and Audience Insights Manager, as part of the Marketing team. The role is responsible for assisting the sales team in their responses to briefs, working on proprietary research studies, conducting bespoke surveys, and managing audience measurement systems. The role is also to aid in facilitating the communication of research related knowledge with internal stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Analysing large volumes of data to build stories around the Outdoor audience for brief responses

  • Mastering the methodological and operational intricacies of MOVE, the Outdoor industry’s audience measurement currency

  • Acting as an advocate of MOVE and other audience measurement sources within APN Outdoor’s business

  • Developing presentations based on bespoke studies or surveys

  • Assisting the broader team with trade campaigns and product marketing material

  • Survey writing, programming questionnaires, and developing results presentations

  • Training APN Outdoor staff on the strategic use of all research related systems and outputs

  • Maintaining internal relationships with the Australian and New Zealand sales teams, trading, commercial and business services teams, as well as senior management

 

Essential experience / skills

  • 3-4 years of exposure to consumer insights in either agency, media owner or research provider.

  • A passion for analysing, reporting and storytelling

  • Knowledge and experience of conducting quantitative research projects

  • Comfortable with analysing data and writing reports

  • Detail orientated and well organised, great time management and an ability to multitask

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Presentation skills desirable

  • Experience using numerous data analytic tools such as but not limited to Nielsen CMV, Roy Morgan, Emma, Q, Sparq, and GeoEmma.

Insights Coordinator/ Executive

The role
We are currently seeking a junior researcher to join our team in Sydney. The title of this role may be adapted for the right candidate and will be hired at either coordinator or executive level, depending on experience. The role is to assist the insights department in all activities which support the selling and marketing of APN Outdoor’s suite of media formats in Australia and New Zealand.
You will report directly into the Research and Audience Insights Manager, as part of the Marketing team. The role is responsible for assisting the sales team in their responses to briefs, maintaining insights lead marketing material and utilising and understanding audience measurement systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of insights driven marketing material around the Outdoor audience

  • Support Sales teams across Australia and New Zealand with research requests for brief responses

  • Become familiar with MOVE, the Outdoor audience measurement currency, and strategic use of its outputs

  • Develop presentations based on bespoke studies or surveys

  • Support the broader team with trade campaigns and product marketing material

  • Assist with survey writing and programing questionnaires

  • Maintain inventory libraries and backend of all research resources

  • Perform administrative tasks maintaining efficient operation of the insights team

  • Develop relationships with external research suppliers and internal stakeholder

  • Assist in the development and implementation of internal training initiatives

Essential experience / skills

  • 1-3 years of exposure to consumer insights in either agency, media owner or research provider.

  • A keen interest in story telling through research and statistics

The successful candidate will have recently completed a Bachelor Degree in Accounting. Previous work experience of at least two years, relevant to the role, is also preferred.
