James Warburton was appointed as the new CEO of APN Outdoor from 22 January 2018.
James is a world-class senior executive with vast expertise in the media, marketing and advertising sectors.
Most recently James was the CEO of V8 Supercars where he drove significant growth in the sport and delivered unprecedented broadcast, sponsorship and funding deals.
James has held senior leadership roles at media buying company Universal McCann, the Seven Network and Network Ten.
Andrew Hines is the Chief Operating Officer of APN Outdoor and is responsible for driving the strategic direction of the business in Australia.
Prior to this, Andrew worked for Cody Outdoor as Finance & Commercial Director. He then served as Chief Financial Officer of APN Outdoor before being appointed to the role of Chief Operating Officer in 2006.
Mr Knox has more than 30 years’ experience in CFO, Board and finance leadership roles including 11 years as CFO of Austar United Communications up to its sale to Foxtel, and 9 years at Ten Network Holdings.
Over the past four years, Mr Knox was Chief Operating Officer, CFO and Company Secretary at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research.
Mr Knox has a Bachelor of Business (Accounting), is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Australian Institute Company Secretaries, and has completed the Advanced Management Program at Wharton Business School.
Mark leads our dedicated Sales Team to provide advertisers with the best Outdoor advertising solutions in Australia.
Mark joined APN Outdoor in December 2013 and brings over 20 years of media experience from television, print and Outdoor advertising. He is highly regarded in the industry, not just for sales leadership and his intimate knowledge of the media landscape, but for his tenacity and ability to get the job done.
Mike Watkins is the General Manager of APN Outdoor New Zealand. Mike is responsible for driving the development and growth of New Zealand operation.
Watkins has been in the advertising industry in NZ market for over 20 years, and comes most recently from being Head of social@Ogilvy. Previous to this, Mike was the COO and Founder of Post Creative Group, Group General Manager at Designworks, and also held senior roles at DDB and M&C Saatchi in Auckland.
His knowledge and experience are a huge asset to APN Outdoor and will help continue to drive Outdoor growth in the future.
Charlotte Valente is APN Outdoor’s General Manager – Marketing, responsible for driving initiatives to maximise the company’s market presence across Australia and New Zealand. Charlotte joined APN Outdoor on 19th February 2018.
Charlotte has over 20 years’ experience in connecting brands to people, working in senior roles across sales and marketing, consulting, strategy and sponsorship divisions in numerous reputable companies.
Annaliese van Riet
Annaliese van Riet leads our People & Culture function across Australia & New Zealand, with responsibility for driving the overall strategic direction of the HR function that inspires and enables a culture of innovation and high-performance.
Annaliese has a long history of building and enabling performance cultures in the media and technology sectors in both Australia & the UK. Annaliese was previously HR Director ANZ for Pandora Media; and prior to that, senior HR lead for the advertising sales, product and technology functions at Fairfax Media through times of significant digital transformation; and in the UK Annaliese built the HR function of a start-tech technology business taking them through to acquisition.
Damien Rath is responsible for leading APN Outdoor’s digital development program across Australia and New Zealand.
With a career spanning 20 years, Damien’s introduction to the Outdoor industry was in 1996 where he was employed by Cody Outdoor as their NSW Development Manager. In 2004 the brand APN Outdoor was launched and Damien’s responsibilities increased to APN Outdoor’s NSW/QLD Commercial Director. With 10 years Outdoor industry experience, in 2006 Damien was promoted to General Manager Commercial to oversee the function across Australia and New Zealand.
Damien was recently appointed to lead the APN Outdoor digital development strategy across Australia and New Zealand in the newly created role of General Manager Digital Media.
Paul leads the Operations team to ensure that all digital, static and transit media assets are constructed and presented to a high quality and that all media campaigns are delivered on time and to client expectations. Key activities within the Operations function include OHS, Asset Management, Production and Campaign Delivery.
Paul is a CPA and prior to this role with APN Outdoor he was the General Manager Fairfax Printers in Sydney. Paul has also held various operational, commercial and business improvement roles with Fairfax Media, CBA, Kellogg’s and BHP.
Paul is responsible for leading APN Outdoor’s Commercial function across Australia and New Zealand. Paul oversees the negotiation, procurement, management and decommissioning of all static and transit media assets across APN Outdoor's Australian and New Zealand businesses.
Paul has been with APN Outdoor since January 2006 starting with the management of the Sydney Airport Outdoor advertising contract. Since that time Paul has taken on wider responsibilities within the Commercial group across Australia and New Zealand, ultimately being appointed to General Manager, Commercial.
Prior to moving to Outdoor Paul spent a number of years working in senior management roles in magazine publishing both in the UK and Australia.
