APN Outdoor debuts new sales role within the ranks


SYDNEY: Leading Outdoor provider, APN Outdoor, has revealed a new sales structure that gives team members a clearer and easier path into an Account Management level. The first person to experience this new organisational structure will be Sydney based Sales Coordinator Ruth Quartly who is moving up into the newly created Account Executive role.

Quartly joined APN Outdoor in 2011, originally with the independent agencies and direct client teams. After gaining invaluable insight into how direct advertisers use Outdoor and how independent media agencies operate in the market, Quartly moved across to the agency team where she has worked on some of APN Outdoor’s biggest accounts.

Mark Fairhurst, APN Outdoor General Manager – Sales, explains why the company choose to introduce this new level into the sales structure; “Traditionally the lead up into account management followed a well-trodden path from sales coordinator to account manager. Whilst this may be the norm for most media companies, we recognised that there was scope to improve on this model so we could both nurture new talent up the ranks and to deliver an even higher quality of account management to our clients”.

Fairhurst also commented on the motivation behind promoting Quartly to the new role; “When Ruth moved into the agency team, she consistently rose to the many challenges that 2013 presented.  Ruth’s manner with clients, patience under pressure and attention to detail has earned her this step up. With our new structure in place, we thought this was the perfect chance for Ruth to step into an Account Executive role.”

Quartly’s promotion is effective immediately.
