Sydney CBD’s first Digital Billboard goes live
SYDNEY: Today, leading Outdoor company, APN Outdoor, switches on Sydney CBD’s first-ever roadside, large format, high-definition, Digital Billboard. The installation of ‘The Darling’ marks APN Outdoor’s completion of Australia’s first national large format Digital Billboard pack.
Clients Lion Nathan, Mercedes, Optus and Microsoft are the first to see their campaigns up in lights at the busy Darlinghurst intersection where their campaigns will enjoy exposure to almost 2.5 million audience contacts across a month.
APN Outdoor CEO Richard Herring said; “In 2013, we have relentlessly rolled out new Digital Billboard inventory across the six major cities in Australia and New Zealand. Turning on The Darling for the first time gives the whole company a sense of satisfaction and achievement because we are the first Outdoor company to offer roadside, large format Digital Billboards on a national scale to advertisers. We are now looking forward to seeing the excitement it causes in the market and what creative directions advertisers will take to capitalise on this dynamic medium.”
Another unique feature of The Darling is the integrated community messaging component. Offering the City of Sydney a regular spot on the advertising schedule, the Council can utilise the effective broadcast ability of Outdoor by promoting their festivals, events and news updates in real time.
World leading digital technology experts Daktronics manufactured and installed the 12.6m x 3.3m LED high definition, large format Digital Billboard.
