APN Outdoor, Australia's leading provider of outdoor advertising, today launched a new landmark billboard site, the largest ever in Australia, atop Sydney International Airport's new Terminal 1 car park.
The landmark site was borne out of an initial approach by media agency Mitchells Brisbane and Australia's newest international airline V Australia, who wanted to make a bold statement with maximum visual impact close to the airport. The result is a 200 metre long super site that sits on top of an eight storey car park, the latest addition to International Terminal 1.
The site is made up of two panels, each one approximately as long as 35 car spaces at just over 100 metres and is 5.375 metres high. The site is a massive 42 times bigger than a standard super site. Hard to miss by anyone in the vicinity of the International Airport, the west facing panel faces Cooks River Bridge, the entry to the International Airport. The north facing looks toward Airport Drive.
Sydney Airport is the national gateway and manages approximately 45 per cent of the country's international travellers. Last year, more than ten million passengers travelled through T1 - Sydney Airport's International Terminal.
Paul McBeth, General Manager - Marketing, APN Outdoor, said:
"Eight stories off the ground, and 100 metres facing north and west, V Australia will be noticed by anyone parking, driving or flying anywhere in the vicinity of the International Airport. Apart from being the largest site in the country, it also has a very high and consistent level of guaranteed traffic and visibility. We're thrilled to offer V Australia a unique and powerful way to reach its target audience," McBeth concluded.
V Australia has exclusive use of the super site for the next twelve months. The inaugural V Australia creative is 'fly girls', promoting Australia's newest and most innovative international airline. With all the flair expected from a Virgin brand, it's befitting of V Australia to go for an innovative, completely new and bold outdoor solution.
Michelle Lee, General Manager, Marketing for V Australia said:
"As an airline group, we have a modest advertising budget so our mission is to come up with new and fresh ways to showcase our airline and maximise impact and dollar spend. This new billboard has the "wow" factor, it's a little hard to miss and is the perfect platform for us to showcase V Australia's sassy "Fly Girls" campaign".
